Visitors to the Putnam County office building will have an easier time finding a parking space. That's because the county's new executive, Kevin Byrne, made it a point to remove the VIP signs marking two spaces as reserved for the County Executive and the Deputy County Executive. New York Republican Assemblyman Kevin Byrne will officially be Putnam County's next executive after securing a victory on Election Day. Byrne, age 37, who currently serves as assemblyman representing New York's 94th District, earned over 28,000 votes after running unopposed, according to a statement from his campaign. One of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s top aides announced that he will be leaving upstate to take on a new job in Westchester. Brian Shea, the director of operations for the City of Albany is heading to Westchester, where he will serve as Rye’s newest assistant city manager beginning in February.
