A Connecticut native who survived the deadliest mass shooting in the state's history is speaking out after witnessing another deadly shooting at a college in the Midwest this week. Jackie Matthews is a student at Michigan State University and a Newtown native, according to her Facebook profile. A retired NYPD officer from the Hudson Valley received the longest prison sentence to date among those convicted of taking part in riots at the US Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021. Orange County resident Thomas Webster, age 56, of the village of Florida, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Thursday, Sept. 1, after a jury convicted him of assaulting a Washington, DC police officer with a deadly weapon. Alert Issued For Missing NY Man Now Believed To Be In Hudson Valley
A 56-year-old upstate New York man has gone missing and authorities are alerting the public they believe he is in the Hudson Valley. David C. Rasmussen was last seen on Wednesday, Aug. 24 in Tonawanda, New York, just outside of Buffalo. He is described as being 5-foot-7, 160 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. A former Marine from Northern Westchester died on Monday, March 22 at age 28. Kittiphon "Kit" Ponchareon was a graduate of Ossining High School who served in the Marine Corps for four years. He began his training in Yuma, Arizona, and was then deployed to multiple locations in the Middle East.
