Nearly 30 years after fatally stabbing a fellow inmate at a Northern Westchester prison because he wore a cross, a 54-year-old New York man learned he will spend decades in prison for the killing. Hudson Valley Inmate Receives Increased Sentence For Attacking Jail Guards
A 35-year-old Hudson Valley inmate will serve an extra 14 years in state prison for attacking correction officers on at least four occasions, seriously injuring two. Rockland County resident, Darius Williams, age 35, of Spring Valley, was sentenced to two consecutive seven-year terms for the assaults, said Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh. Hudson Valley Prison On Lockdown After 24 Hours Of Violence
A Hudson Valley correctional facility is on lockdown following 24 hours of violence. The Dutchess County facility, Green Haven Correctional, located in Stormville, was placed on lockdown after the violent 24 hours on Wednesday, Oct.. 4, said Daniel Martuscello, Acting Commissioner of the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. One Killed, Another Injured After Fight Breaks Out At Correctional Facility In Hudson Valley
One person was killed and another injured after a fight broke out at a correctional facility in the Hudson Valley. The incident between incarcerated individuals in Dutchess County happened on Tuesday, June 28 at the Green Haven Facility in Stormville, New York State Police said. The identity of the person killed is being withheld pending family notifications. This investigation remains ongoing and new information will be released as it becomes available, state police said. Officer Injured After Attack At Correctional Facility In Area
An officer at an area correctional facility was injured after being attacked by an inmate. The incident happened in Dutchess County at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville took place on Monday, Oct. 28, resulting in several non-life threatening injuries, said DOCCS spokesperson Thomas Mailey. The officer was transported by a state vehicle to a local hospital for treatment, Mailey said. The incarcerated individual is being moved to another maximum security facility.
