Trio Nabbed In Hudson Valley With Illegal Gun After Dispute, Cops Say
Three men were charged with alleged possession of an illegal handgun after a dispute in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Orange County in the village of Maybrook around 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. The gun was discovered after the town of Montgomery Police responded to Rakov Road in Maybrook for a reported dispute with a gun, said Chief John Hank of the Montgomery Police. Hudson Valley Man Commits Suicide As Officers Attempt To Stop Him, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man shot himself in the head while state police worked to prevent him from doing so. The incident took place in Orange County around 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the town of Mount Hope. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, Orange County 911 dispatched the state police and the Town of Mount Hope Police for a reported potential suicide. A 23-year-old man is alive thanks to the quick work of several area police officers after a car fell on top of him. The accident took place in Orange County at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, when police received a call that Justin Muller was pinned under a vehicle that had fallen while he was working on the vehicle, Town of New Windsor Deputy Chief Michael Farbent said. Call For Shots Fired Sends Police Out In Force In Area
State Police turned out in force after a call was received for shots fired, but once on the scene, it was discovered it was falsely reported. The incident took place around 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, when New York State Police received a 911 call about a reported disturbance involving a gun and shots fired at a home in Red Hook, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Fight Involving 30 Students Breaks Out At School In Westchester
A large fight involving more than 30 students at a Westchester school ended with four arrests. The fight broke out around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on the campus of the Graham School at 1 South Broadway, in Hastings-on-Hudson, near the Odel Cottage, according to Hastings-on-Hudson Police Lt. David Dosin. Officers responded to the school, which was placed on lockdown, along with officers from the Yonkers Police Department and Westchester County. An anonymous report of a gunman on the roof of a building in Westchester brought out a heavy police response on Monday night. Police received the call around 7:58 p.m. Monday with the caller stating that a man with a gun was on the roof of 28 Caryl Ave. in Yonkers, said Sgt. Jared Singer. A report of a man walking onto the campus of Western Connecticut State University with a long gun led to a complete lockdown and shelter in place as a mass of police converged on the college campus.
