Woman Found Dead In Hudson Valley Apartment After Fire
Police are investigating an apartment fire that killed a 56-year-old woman in the Hudson Valley. Troopers in Orange County responded to a building fire on Robbins Road in Mount Hope at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, New York State Police. Local fire departments quickly extinguished the blaze. During a search of the building, a tenant, identified as Shaun Schiffinger, was found dead in her apartment, police said. A New York City man with warrants out for his arrest is facing a host of new charges after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and setting fire to their Hudson Valley condominium, damaging at least 10 units, police announced. Police Probe Possible Causes Of Fire At Former Site Of Popular Restaurant
The two-alarm fire that destroyed a former popular restaurant that has sat abandoned since it closed in 2001 is under investigation. The Rusty Nail, known for its "hopping" happy hours, was destroyed by the fire during the early morning hours on Thursday in the town of Wallkill.
