The Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning actress, who graduated from a Long Island high school, can add one more nomination to her long list of achievements.
Natalie Portman, an alum of Syosset High School, was announced as one of the Golden Globe nominees on Monday, Dec. 11 for her latest film, “May December.”
Portman, known for her roles in movies such as “Black Swan,” “Thor,” and “Jackie,” is nominated in the category of “Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” for her most recent role as dutiful actress Elizabeth Berry.

Hudson Valley Resident Co-Produced Oscar Favorite For Picture Of Year
With the Oscars airing this weekend few people have focused on part-time Hudson Valley resident and Vassar alumnus Jon Read who co-produced this year's favorite film.
Read, who doesn't divulge where he lives in the Hudson Valley, was the co-producer and production supervisor of "Everything Everywhere All at Once," according to Laurent Rejto, of the Hudson Valley Film Commission.
