Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands, Brings Down Trees, Power Lines In Putnam, Dutchess
Thousands are without power on Long Island as storms rolled through the region, bringing whipping winds of more than 70 mph that toppled tree limbs and downed power lines.
As of 1 p.m. on Monday, April 13, Central Hudson was reporting that 17,493 of its 120,208 customers were without power, while 2,580 of its 5,151 customers were reporting outages.
NYSEG was reporting 13,619 of its Putnam customers were without power, while 868 in Dutchess were left in the dark.

On Saturday, Sept., 28, State Police from Brewster arrested Jason M. Curnen, 26, of Bedford, for Aggravated DWI. He was traveling on I-684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation revealed he was under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Taconic Traffic Stop Leads To Weapon, Drug Charges For 26-Year-Old Man
A traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway led to weapon and drug charges for a 26-year-old man, police say.
New York State Police say they initiated a traffic stop on a 2001 Honda Civic after observing a violation on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Milan on Friday, June 28 around 4 p.m.
Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Jose Bermudez, 26, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, was in possession of a Beretta Pico .380 auto handgun, approximately 1.2 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police say.
