31-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Area Crash
A 31-year-old man was killed after being entrapped during a two-vehicle crash.
The crash took place around 5:15 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 5, in Amenia, said Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
According to Watterson, a preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2006 Ford Explorer driven by Felix Santiago, age 31, of Amenia, was traveling westbound on South Amenia Road when it crossed over the center markings and struck an eastbound 2016 Dodge Ram driven by Litchfield County, Connecticut resident William Watts, age 69, of Kent.

Three Gang Members In Area Nabbed For Stabbing, Police Say
Three gang members have been charged with allegedly stabbing a man.
The incident took place around 1 a.m., Friday, Aug. 20 when City of Poughkeepsie officers on patrol spotted the three chase, tackle, punch, kick and stab the victim.
As the officers pulled up to the scene the three men fled and were chased on foot into the area of N. White, Main Streets, and the eastbound arterial, said Detective Lieutenant Matt Clark.
A perimeter was set up around that area and eventually, all three suspects were taken into custody.

1-Year-Old Boy, Woman Killed In Horrific Two-Vehicle Route 9 Crash
A 1-year-old infant and a 48-year-old woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of Route 9.
The crash took place around 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 1, on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls, in the area of New Hackensack Road, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
An initial investigation revealed a 2017 Honda CRV, driven by Loraine Baker, age 48, of Poughkeepsie, was southbound on Route 9 and rear-ended a southbound 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Hicks said.
Baker was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where she died from her injuries, he added.

Woman Allegedly Attempts To Hit Officer, Slams Into Police Car In Area
A woman attempted to hit a local officer with her vehicle, ramming a police cruiser, and then taking officers on a slow-speed chase that ended in a crash, according to authorities.
The incident began around 7:50 a.m., Monday, Nov. 30, when the Hyde Park Police were dispatched to the Rhinebeck Savings Bank located at 1075 Violet Ave. for a reported suspicious vehicle.
Officers arrived at the scene and attempted to interview the sole occupant of a 1992 Honda Accord, 49-year-old Grace Chefalo, of Poughkeepsie, said Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson.
