A late-week storm will bring about a big change in the weather pattern after a stretch of cold and sunny days. Thursday, Dec. 27 will be ideal for traveling with sunny skies and a high again around 40 and wind-chill value also again between 25 and 35. The storm system arrives late Thursday night. New snowfall projections have been released for a quick-moving storm that will sweep through the area Thursday. A total of between a 1 inch to as much as 2 inches of accumulation is now likely north of I-287 and the Merritt Parkway, with higher amounts farther west, the National Weather Service predicted early Thursday morning. There is a low potential for locally 2 to 4 inches of snowfall, the weather service said. Travel conditions could be slippery. An Alberta Clipper will sweep through the area overnight Monday into Tuesday, bringing snowfall far north and rain elsewhere before temperatures drop dramatically on Thanksgiving Day.
