Investigation Determines Cause Of WWI Replica Fatal Plane Crash In Red Hook An initial investigation has determined the cause of a crash that claimed the life of a well-known pilot at an air show in New York. Just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Dutchess County, a World War I-era replica Fokker D.VIII caught fire, causing the plane to crash near the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome during an exhibition in Red Hook. The sole occupant of the plane, 60-year-old Madison County resident Brian T. Coughlin, of the town of Cazenovia, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Red Hook Police. Cause Released Of Small Aircraft Crash Near School In Northern Westchester Officials have revealed why a single-manned aircraft crashed on the grounds of a school in Northern Westchester.  The cause of the crash, which happened at a school in Yorktown on June 29, 2023, was detailed in a report released by the National Transportation Safety Board on Wednesday, July 24.  On the day of the crash, just after noon, Yorktown Police were notified by a resident that a small plane had crashed on the property of the Shrub Oak International School in Mohegan Lake at 3151 Stony Street.   Arriving officers confirmed that a single-engine plan…
