Man Rams Two Cruisers During Multi-County Pursuit Ending In Westchester, Police Say
A Connecticut man was arrested by New York State Police for allegedly fleeing officers and ramming two police vehicles in an effort to escape before finally being apprehended in Westchester County. The incident started around 4 p.m. Thursday, June 24, when New York State Police were assisting the Mahwah, New Jersey, Police Department and South Nyack Police Department with a pursuit that entered I-287 and continued south on I-87, said Trooper Tara McCormick. Man Steals Five Tractors From Employer In Area, Police Say
A 55-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing five tractors from his employer. Nelson Colon of Wallkill was charged on Wednesday, July 31 following an investigation by the Orange County Sheriff's Office into the theft from Hudson River Tractor in Goshen, said Capt. Paul Arteta. Colon, who was charged with grand larceny, is alleged to have stolen the tractors valued at over $40,000, between June and July. Rockland Gangsters' Associate Gets 65 Months In 'Cabjacking,' Bar Holdups
A fellow member of a gang from Rockland was sentenced Wednesday to 65 months in federal prison for his role in carjacking, kidnapping and leaving a local cab driver for dead in Orange County after he and four others robbed a North Jersey bar. Wilbur J. Barahona, 22, of Ridgewood was the last of six defendants to accept a plea deal from federal prosecutors in Newark in connection with the separate crimes, which occurred within hours of one another.
