Three-Alarm Fire Damages Deli In Danbury
A three-alarm fire heavily damaged a Danbury deli. The Danbury 911 center received multiple calls stating that a large amount of smoke was billowing from the Marcello's Deli and Catering near Lake Avenue and Hobson Street late in the evening on Monday, Jan. 14. The 911 dispatch center then alerted fire units, which arrived quickly at the scene. Fire crews confirmed that the smoke was coming from the roof of the structure. Update: A three-hour lockdown ended at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury after the campus was declared to be safe following a report of a man with a gun in the Visual & Performing Arts Center. The declaration came after a search by police officers and a SWAT team.
