Thousands remain without power in the area two days after Tropical Storm Isaias ripped through the region.
Utility crews have been working around the clock to make repairs after the storm sent trees flying into power lines and utility poles, causing mass outages throughout Dutchess, Ulster, and Sullivan counties.
In Dutchess County, Central Hudson was reporting 16,068 customers were still without power, with an additional 11,745 NYSEG customers still in the dark.

Tropical Storm Isaias: Thousands Lose Power In Putnam
Tens of thousands of Putnam, Dutchess, and Ulster residents have lost power as Tropical Storm Isaias rocked the region with extreme wind gusts that toppled trees, felled utility poles and downed power lines throughout the area.
Putnam County was hardest hit, with 33,464 of NYSEG’s 38,693 customers reporting outages, with Carmel (11,654), Southeast (5,966), Putnam Valley (4,894), and Patterson (4,460) seeing the most outages.
Central Hudson was responding to 606 total outages that were impacting 63,821 of their customers as of 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Four Store Clerks Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minors In State Police Detail
Four store clerks in the Hudson Valley are facing charges for selling booze to minors during an underage drinking detail conducted by New York State Police.
On Friday, July 3, New York State Police troopers in Wappinger conducted the underage drinking detail in 24 locations in Dutchess County, leading to citations being issued to employees at four convenience stores.

Man Nabbed For Strong-Arm Robbery Also Connected To Other Business Larcenies, Police Say
A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged strong-arm robbery at an area Staples store.
William A. Gearhart, of LaGrange, was arrested on Wednesday, June 17, in Dutchess County by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police for the robbery, said Capt. Joseph Cavalier.
The robbery took place around 10 a.m., on Thursday, June 11, when Gearhart allegedly forcibly stole merchandise from the Staples at 2522 South Road and fled the scene in a vehicle, Cavalier said.
Following an investigation, Gearhart was identified as a suspect and arrested. He was also identified in larcenies from …
