Man Stopped On Street In Westchester County After Illegally Carrying Loaded Gun, Police Say
A man was charged with illegally carrying a loaded gun after being stopped while walking on a street with the weapon, police said. On Thursday, Nov. 10 around 6:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a man illegally carrying a handgun in New Rochelle near North Avenue and Sickles Avenue, according to New Rochelle Police. Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting at a Southern Westchester bar and announced the arrest of a suspect. Antonio Antoine-Filis, age 22,was killed on Sunday, Feb. 6 around 2 a.m. during a shooting at the Duo Tapas Lounge and Bar on Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers. According to Detective Lt. A deputy mayor in the Hudson Valley has been indicted on a host of charges following his arrest on gun possession charges earlier this year. In Rockland, Brian Downey, age 47, the deputy mayor of the Village of Airmont is facing dozens of felony charges following a federal, county, and local law enforcement investigation into the purchase of illegal gun parts.
