Hyde Park Police Hosting 'Stop The Bleed' Life-Saving Training Course
The Hyde Park Police Department is hosting a free STOP THE BLEED training course. The course is planned for Tuesday, April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hyde Park Police Station, at 3 Cardinal Road. This course is designed to train all participants life saving techniques in the event of an emergency. Many people who suffer traumatic injuries do not survive due to uncontrolled bleeding. Please note that seating is limited. East Fishkill previously announced offering a similar course on April 14 as reported here by Daily Voice.

Tow Truck Owner Called Hero For Saving Hyde Park Officer From Drunk Driver
Jeff Ledoux of Hyde Park, owner of Just In Time Towing, was honored by the Hyde Park Police Department this week for rescuing one of its police officers. About 4 a.m. on Dec. 17, 2017, Hyde Park police were conducting a traffic stop as part of a DWI patrol. Hyde Park Central School District issued a statement to the community on Tuesday saying the source of a social media threat which turned out to be "unfounded" has been identified. The school district message read in part, "The HPCSD is aware of a recent social media post regarding a school shooting. Red Hook Man Trying To Escape Capture Almost Hits Cop, Police Say
A Red Hook man is behind bars after trying to run down a Town of Poughkeepsie police officer who had stopped to investigate a vehicle, according to Town of Poughkeepsie Police. Stewart A. Klein, 30, was originally approached around 6 p.m. Monday when an officer approached his red Chevy S10 pickup truck parked in the area of Innis Avenue, police said.
