Work Begins On Affordable Apartments In Hudson Valley
Construction has begun to rehabilitate 212 affordable apartments in three cities and towns in the Hudson Valley. According to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, all three properties are in Ulster County in the cities of Kingston and Saugerties and the town of Ulster. Hudson Valley School To Close For Year
Delays from the state Department of Education have forced a Hudson Valley school district to close an elementary school for a year. The school, Fort Montgomery Elementary School, is located in Orange County. According to Superintendent of Schools Michael McElduff, the district submitted all required documentation for the extensive project review to the State Education Department. Potentially Dangerous Leak Causes Closure Of School In Hudson Valley
Firefighters took quick action after a malfunctioning boiler caused a carbon monoxide leak at a Hudson Valley elementary school. The incident took place Monday, Oct. 25, around 11:30 a.m. when an automatic fire alarm at Warring Elementary in the City of Poughkeepsie alerted firefighters to the problem. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the building had been evacuated of all children and staff and a manual pull station had been activated due to a haze and there was an alarm sounding, the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department said.
