Strong To Severe Storms Possible During Summerlike Weekend
The calendar may say it's late May, but conditions will feel much more like the end of July this weekend.
Temperatures will top out at around the 90-degree mark both days, with high humidity, and there will be multiple chances for isolated, spotty storms, some of which could be severe.
Saturday, May 22 will be a mostly cloudy day with the storm chance starting in the early afternoon and continuing through the evening, until around 9 p.m.
Storms are possible on Sunday, May 23 during another window of approximately six hours, from around 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Florence has been a slow-motion catastrophe for the Carolinas.
The hurricane turned tropical storm, which is now a tropical depression, has resulted in 18 deaths, up to 40 inches of rain in some spots, trapped hundreds, knocked out power to more than a half-million homes and businesses and made hundreds of roads in North and South Carolina impassable.
The sprawling storm, which made landfall on Friday, is now headed our way, with parts of it now over six states.

Florence Will Deliver Parting Shot Here Before Drifting Out To Sea
Florence, a slow-moving hurricane turned tropical depression that has brought catastrophic flooding to North Carolina, is now heading north.
But before its remnants finally drift out to sea on Thursday, it will deliver a parting shot to the Northeast, including this region.
Since making landfall Friday morning, Florence has resulted in at least 14 deaths, dumped up to 40 inches of rain and knocked out power to around 750,000.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Storms With Downpours, Gusty Winds, Lightning Moving Through Area
With an increase in the chance for storms Friday afternoon and evening, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for the area.
The watch, issued at 3:40 p.m. by the National Weather Service, is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday. Among the counties covered by the watch are Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange and Fairfield.
Isolated storms began to develop in the area in the mid-afternoon and are now moving eastward. (See radar image above.)
