'Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over' Campaign Launches Across NY State
‘Tis the season for cracking down on drunk driving. Starting on Wednesday, Dec. 13, and lasting through Monday, Jan. 1, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the New York State Police would join in on the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. During the campaign, additional patrols will be out on the road, and DWI checkpoints will be set up to ensure any person driving under the influence is taken off the road. State Police Ramp Up DWI Details Over Memorial Day Weekend
New York State Police are increasing patrols in an effort to reduce the number of drunk, impaired and reckless drivers on the roads throughout this Memorial Day weekend. The STOP-DWI enforcement period runs through Memorial Day on Monday, May 27. During this time, police will be out in force to remove impaired and reckless drivers from the highways. Drivers can also expect to see various sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols by State Police as well as other local law enforcement agencies. Putnam To Participate in Statewide

Putnam County officials are preparing for the state-wide “STOP-DWI” enforcement campaign occurring over Super Bowl weekend. In an effort to crack down on impaired drivers, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office will be increasing enforcement efforts through sobriety checkpoints starting Friday, Feb. 1 through 4 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 4. Officials encourage those attending Super Bowl events to choose a designated driver or make plans to ensure a safe ride home.
