Gold Medal Flour Products Recalled Due To Salmonella Contamination
General Mills is recalling Gold Medal flour products after Salmonella has turned up in testing. The company announced on Friday, April 28 a voluntary national recall of 2-, 5- and 10-pound bags of its Gold Medal Unbleached and Bleached All Purpose Flour with a “better if used by” date of March 27, 2024, and March 28, 2024. The recall is being issued for the potential presence of Salmonella Infantis, which was discovered during sampling of the 5-pound bag product, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said. The United States Food and Drug Administration is investigating reports from consumers who say they got sick after eating Lucky Charms. The website IWasPoisoned.com reported that food poisoning reports stemming from the popular General Mills cereal brand began trending on its website beginning in late 2021, and it has received hundreds of reports of people saying they fell sick after eating the product. There is a national recall of General Mills has flour products due to an E. coli scare. The company announced that it is recalling five-pound bags of its “Gold Medal Unbleached All-Purpose Flour” due to the potential presence of E. coli O26 which was discovered during sampling of the five-pound bag product. General Mills has issued a recall of five-pound Gold Medal bags of flour after salmonella was found in samples of the product. Bags with a “better if used by date of April 20, 2020” were part of the recall, which the FDA said was issued out of an abundance of care.
