ID Released For Fleeing Driver Involved In Crash After Exiting Taconic Parkway
The driver of the vehicle involved in a police pursuit and crash has been identified by New York State Police.
Allan P. Forbes, age 31, was arrested after the incident in Dutchess County began in East Fishkill around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 19 when troopers stopped the car for allegedly speeding.
As the trooper was questioning Forbes, of the Bronx, during the stop on the Taconic State Parkway, he took off, exiting the Taconic and heading eastbound on Route 52, state police said.

Westchester Native Frank Pallett, Owner Of Theater, Fitness Complex In Area, Dies At Age 51
An entrepreneur who owned two popular Hudson Valley businesses, has died at the age of 51.
Frank Pallett died on Wednesday, Aug. 11 after a brief illness.
He was the owner of The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie and Maximum Fitness in Newburgh. He also had a radio show called "Live from The Chance."
Pallett was born in Yonkers. He was a graduate of John Jay High School in East Fishkill, and he later attended Dutchess Community College and Empire State College, his obituary said.

Nearly Two Dozen Charged With Impaired Driving During Dutchess Detail
Authorities in Dutchess County have just announced the results of a special multi-agency holiday DWI detail in Dutchess County.
Between Friday, July 2, and Monday, July 5, law enforcement agencies in Dutchess conducted impaired driving details that included saturation of patrols throughout the county in addition to their regular patrols, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office announced on Wednesday, July 14.
In total, 21 motorists were busted for impaired driving.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Dutchess is getting closer to 1,000 as the death toll in the county rose slightly in the past week as the county recovers from the second surge of the virus.
Dutchess health officials were monitoring 1,080 active COVID-19 cases on Friday, March 5, down from 1,177 last week, but up from approximately 800 in late February.
