Road Rage: Shots-Fired Incident Under Investigation In Dutchess County
A road-rage confrontation on a busy highway led to the arrest of one man who allegedly fired shots at another car in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, on the Dutchess Turnpike near Degarmo Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Capt. Ralph Cropley of the Poughkeepsie Police, an investigation found that a Dodge Ram and a Honda Accord were involved in the incident, and the driver of the Ram intentionally fired an illegally possessed handgun at the Accord, striking it and causing damage. The non-custodial father of a 4-year-old Hudson Valley boy is behind bars after allegedly kidnapping the child at knifepoint. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 when police responded to 881 Dutchess Turnpike in the town of Poughkeepsie on a report of an armed kidnapping, Town of Poughkeepsie Police said. New York Lottery officials said the third-prize ticket was purchased in Dutchess County in Poughkeepsie at 1118 Mannat Inc., at 818 Dutchess Turnpike. Two Store Clerks Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minor During Detail, State Police Say
Two store clerks were charged with selling alcohol to a minor during an underage enforcement operation conducted by state police in the area. The detail, held on Saturday, May 23 in Dutchess, utilized an underage volunteer to purchase alcohol under the observation of plainclothes investigators and supported by uniformed troopers. A total of 18 store clerks refused to complete the sale of alcohol to the volunteer. Route 44 Ramp Closure Scheduled In Town of Poughkeepsie
There will be temporary delays on Route 44 in Dutchess County this week as contractors close down an exit ramp for several hours to conduct construction work in Poughkeepsie. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 29, there will be an exit ramp closure eastbound on Route 44 (Haight Avenue) at Main Street / Dutchess Turnpike, weather permitted. A Poughkeepsie man was nabbed on robbery charges after he shoplifted and then threatened an employee saying he had a gun, according to Town of Poughkeepsie Police. Corey Belton, 25, of Poughkeepsie was charged with robbery Tuesday after police were called to Adams Fairacre Farms at 765 Dutchess Turnpike of a shoplifter fleeing the store, said Capt. Kevin Faber. Poughkeepsie Man Rips Off Wallet From K-Mart Shopper
A Poughkeepsie man is behind bars for stealing a wallet from a shopper at K-Mart in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Arnold J. Falgiano Jr., 32, was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into the theft at the store at 635 Dutchess Turnpike, said Capt. Kevin Faber. According to Faber, Falgiano was identified through store video surveillance after taking the wallet from a store counter. Falgiano was charged with felony grand larceny and is being held at the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
