Hudson Valley Woman Nabbed On Animal Abuse Charges After Dog Dies
A woman was charged with allegedly failing to provide necessary care after her dog died in the region. Dutchess County resident Raysonia M. Owens, age 44, of Hyde Park, was arrested on Monday, Oct. 28, for animal cruelty in connection with the death of a dog on Tuesday, Sept. 3. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Hyde Park Terrace Apartments on Albany Post Road for an animal complaint and found the dead dog that possibly suffered the fatal injuries from a fall. Employee Dies At Age 47
A longtime tech worker in the Hudson Valley died at the age of 47 at his home. Jamie Brian Paterson of Hyde Park, a lifelong Dutchess County resident, lived in of Hyde Park and was born in Poughkeepsie to Daniel M. Paterson and Linda J. (Steele) Paterson. Paterson graduated from FDR High School in Hyde Park in 1994 and then from Dutchess Community College. He was a longtime employee of Southern Westchester BOCES in Rye Brook where he worked in their IT department as a systems engineer, according to his obituary. Health Aide Abused Woman, Dog In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A Hudson Valley woman hired to care for an elderly woman has been charged with neglecting her and a dog after the woman was found wandering in a roadway in a diaper that was duct taped to her. The incident took place in Dutchess County on Tuesday, April 18 around 5:45 p.m. in the area of 116 Roosevelt Road in the town of Hyde Park. Two Injured After Dog Breaks Free To Attack Young Girl In Hudson Valley
A teen and a woman were seriously injured during a dog attack in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, when a large pit bull broke loose from its owner and attacked the 14-year-old girl and the dog's owner, in the area of Thomas Avenue and Geering Park in the town of Fishkill. Cat Missing For 11 Years Reunited With Owner Thanks To SPCA In Area
A stray cat that had been hanging outside of an area home for about three years has been reunited with his owner after missing for 11 years. Tiger was reunited with his mother, Maggie, after Dutchess County SPCS staff member Carol O'Connell took the time to pay attention to the stray cat that has been coming by her house every now and then, said the SPCA. On a whim, O'Connell borrowed a scanner from the shelter and discovered the cat was micro-chipped.
