Drunk Driving: Police In NY To Crack Down On Enforcement Through Thanksgiving Weekend In order to protect New York residents during the week of Thanksgiving, authorities have announced that they will be cracking down on drunk and drugged drivers throughout the state.  The enforcement initiative was announced by both New York Gov. Bridge Strikes: Police Patrol For Oversized Trucks On New York Parkways To Stop Collisions In order to stop oversized trucks from colliding with bridges and overpasses in New York, police are patrolling parkways and other roadways to monitor for large vehicles and stop the incidents before they can happen.  The initiative was announced by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who said that state police are conducting the bridge hit enforcement campaign between Sunday, Nov. 5 through Saturday, Nov. 11 to prevent oversized vehicles from colliding with overpasses.
