Putnam Vigil Scheduled In Support Of Separated Immigrant Families
Residents from the area will come together late Monday afternoon in support of separated immigrant families. A vigil has been scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Putnam County Courthouse in Carmel as a federal court-ordered deadline nears for the reuniting of immigrant children and parents. According to officials, “about 3,000 young children were separated from their parents at the southwest border as part of Trump’s illegal 'zero tolerance' policy of criminally prosecuting asylum-seeking parents. CEO Of Westchester Facility Housing Migrant Kids Speaks Out
The President and CEO of a Westchester facility which is home to several children who were separated from their families from their parents at the Mexican border, is the latest official to speak out against President Donald Trump’s administration’s policy impacting migrant families. NY Moving Forward With Lawsuit After Trump's About-Face On Child Separation
Although President Donald Trump has reversed course from his administration’s policy of separating migrant families crossing the United States border from their parents, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is moving forward with a lawsuit against the administration. Some Migrant Kids Separated From Parents In Westchester, Cuomo Says
Some migrant children who were separated from their parents at the border of the United States and Mexico are being housed in shelters in Westchester County, according to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “We have about 10 facilities in this state. We haven’t spoken with all of them.
