The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 10 just after 9:30 p.m., when a car caught on fire in Carmel in the area of Gipsy Trail Road, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Road Near Lake In Hudson Valley
A car fire in the Hudson Valley left a busy main road filled with smoke, firefighters said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Feb. 7 around 11 a.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on Route 301 near Canopus Lake in the town of Kent, according to the Cold Spring Fire Company No. 1, which helped respond to the blaze. Arriving fire crews found that the vehicle's occupants had been able to escape unharmed and began extinguishing the blaze. The fire was fully put out by noon, firefighters said. The cause of the blaze was not released.

A raging blaze involving two cars sent firefighters on an early morning trip to a school in Northern Westchester. A busy Putnam County intersection was temporarily shut down on Thursday night as firefighters battled a blaze that broke out in a car.
