5 Catalytic Converter Thieves Caught With Fentanyl In Region: Police Five people are facing charges after being caught with stolen catalytic converters and illegal narcotics after a traffic stop, police said.  On Tuesday, Dec. 20, around 5 p.m. police in Columbia County pulled over a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria in Canaan that matched the description of a vehicle that had been used in the theft of catalytic converters, according to New York State Police.  Inside the car, officers found two stolen converters and the tools that had been used to cut them from victims' vehicles, as well as around 3.3 grams of fentanyl, police said.  After t…

Five Teens Charged In Burglary At Facility For Troubled Youths In Hudson Valley A New York State Police investigation led to the arrests of five teenagers who allegedly stole electronics and other items while living in a facility for troubled youths in the Hudson Valley. Investigators were dispatched to the Berkshire Farm Center in Canaan on Sept. 10, where there was a report of a burglary that had taken place overnight.
