Search Resumes For 2 Swimmers Missing In Candlewood Lake
An extensive search and rescue mission will resume early on Tuesday, July 16, for two men who jumped from a boat in a Fairfield County lake and never resurfaced. The incident occurred in Danbury at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, at Candlewood Lake in the area of City Island. According to Erin Henry, spokesperson for the Danbury Fire Department, it was reported that two men had jumped off a boat into the lake and disappeared. Body Found After Weeks-Long Search For Missing Man In Candlewood Lake, Officials Report
The Connecticut State Police Dive Team has recovered the body amid a search for a 24-year-old man who went missing in a lake last month. The 24-year-old man was reported missing on Sunday, May 29, after he went from a vessel into Candlewood Lake, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection reported. Patrol vessels and dive teams searched for the man each daily from the day he was reported missing until a body was found on Thursday, June 16, DEEP reported. Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian Leads To Road Closure In Brookfield
Route 25 in Brookfield has reopened to traffic after being closed for more than four hours following a fatal crash involving a pedestrian. According to the Brookfield Police, the roadway was closed for hours as the department's Major Crash Investigation Team worked the crash scene. 16-Year-Old Arrested After Brookfield Social Media Threat
A 16-year-old Brookfield High School student has been arrested for posting a threat on social media posing with a gun and saying something might happen at the school. Police responded to the school Wednesday after three students notified administrators of the post from the night before that had concerned them, said Brookfield Police Capt. Peter Frengs. Administrators immediately brought the student to the school office and called the police, Frengs said. The student’s parents were also notified and came to the school.
