The incident happened on Long Island at MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma around 6:15 p.m. Monday, July 22. Four-Seat Airplane Forced To Make Emergency Landing At Danbury Airport
A four-seat airplane was forced to make an emergency landing late Sunday morning at the Danbury Airport and both the pilot and passenger managed to avoid suffering injuries. At approximately 11:34 a.m., Danbury Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the airport on a report of an aircraft with an in-flight emergency. The Piper Warrior apparently had a problem with its left side landing gear while performing practice landings on the runway, according to James Gagliardo, public information officer of the Danbury Fire Department. A Lear jet that had problems with the nose landing gear diverted safely from New Jersey to Stewart Airport in Orange County late Thursday morning, authorities said. The troubled jet landed just before noon at the public/military airport nearly 57 miles north of Teterboro, the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo told Daily Voice.
