Tanker Fire Causes Route 22 Closure Route 22 is shut down in both directions Saturday night in the Town of Amenia between the Amenia Town Hall and the intersection of Route 343 following a tanker fire, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports just before 9:30 p.m. Traffic can still travel west on Route 44 towards Millbrook and east on Route 343 towards Connecticut. Amenia Man Arrested For Rape A 34-year-old Dutchess County man was charged with rape following an investigation by New York State Troopers into a rape complaint.  Cresson T. Horton of Amenia was arrested on Friday, Jan. 19 after troopers received a complaint from a victim who told investigators that Horton forced them to perform sexual acts, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Troopers from the Dover Plains barracks charged Horton, who was familiar with the victim, with felony rape and felony criminal sexual act, Hicks said.
