Sergeant From Hudson Valley Charged With DWI, Hit-Run
An NYPD sergeant from the Hudson Valley was charged with DWI and hit-and-run following a pursuit with the New York State Police on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The incident occurred in Rockland and Orange counties on Sunday, Aug. 4, in Haverstraw and Highlands. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, around 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, troopers received word of a hit-and-run on the Palisades Parkway in the town of Haverstraw. Three Westchester Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops
More than a dozen motorists were taken off the road by New York State Police troopers for alleged impaired driving. Local residents charged include: Westchester County On Saturday, July 20, State Police from Stormville arrested Shane A. Lesniak, 46, of Yonkers, for DWAI Drugs, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, both misdemeanors. He was traveling on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. 100 Deadliest Days Campaign Focuses On Dangers Of Distracted Teen Driving
With Memorial Day in the rearview mirror, AAA is cautioning that the holiday kicked off the “100 Deadliest Days” for teen drivers on area roadways. Over the past five years, nearly 3,500 people have been killed in crashes involving teen drivers during the 100 Deadliest Days - the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day - when the number of crash fatalities involving a teen driver historically rise. Eight Orange County Residents Face DWI Charges After State Police Stops
Several Hudson Valley residents were among 17 motorists taken off the road by New York State Police troopers over the weekend for alleged impaired driving. Local residents charged include: Orange County On Friday, Jan. 25, State Police troopers from Wurtsboro arrested James Galletly, 50 of Bloomingburg, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 61 in Mamakating when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
