16-Year-Old Sets Fire To School In Capital Region, Police Say
Classes were in session when a 16-year-old allegedly set fire to a high school in the region. The Albany County incident happened Tuesday, April 23, at Bethlehem High School. According to Bethlehem Police, the juvenile suspect intentionally started a fire in a school bathroom in the C wing. No students or staff were injured, but the incident forced an evacuation of the building that lasted nearly an hour. Capital Region Student's Hit List Leads To Criminal Charges
A middle school student from the region is facing criminal charges after allegedly threatening to harm fellow students or teachers. In Albany County, administrators at Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland contacted police on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 1 saying a student had been found with a list threatening “serious harm” to school members. Teens Busted With AR-15 Rifle, Handgun In Capital District, Police Say
Two 16-and-17-year-old boys are facing charges after they were allegedly busted carrying loaded guns in the Capital District. Albany Police said they spotted the teens at around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, as the boys walked near McCrossin Avenue and Thornton Street in Albany. When detectives tried to stop the teens as part of an ongoing investigation, they took off running, police said.
