Woman Run Over By Husband's Car In Stamford
A woman landed in the hospital after her husband left the car in neutral and it began to roll downhill and she was run over by the vehicle in Fairfield County. The accident took place around 4:45 p.m. Monday on Nathan Hale Drive when the husband put the car in neutral with the parking brake engaged during a stop to visit someone, said Sgt. Robert Shawinsky. Parked on a hill, the car began to roll backward, and the wife who was sitting in the passenger seat attempted to get out and run to the driver's side to put it in park, he said. Woman Hits Gas Instead Of Brake, Ends Up In Pool, Police Say
A woman who thought she was hitting the brake on her vehicle, but instead hit the gas, ended up at the bottom of a clubhouse pool, police said. The incident took place around 9 a.m. Monday in rainy conditions at the Retreat Senior Living community on Langdon Grove off Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel, said Carmel Police Lt. John Dearman. Darman said the 67-year-old Carmel woman told officers she thought she was stepping on the brake, but instead hit the gas, jumped a curb and drove through a fence before ending up in the bottom of the pool. 80-Year-Old Man Dragged By Truck In Hopewell Junction
An 80-year-old man was injured when he left his truck in neutral and then reached inside to retrieve something and was dragged as it rolled. The incident took place around 11:12 a.m. Monday on Route 376 in Hopewell Junction, said East Fishkill Police Chief Matthew Orsino. The unidentified man had gotten out of his truck to go back inside his home to call his doctor about his medication but once on the phone, realized he had left the medication in the truck and went to retrieve it, Orsino said. 25-Year-Old Dies After Fall From Bucket Truck In Hudson Valley
A 25-year-old man who fell from a bucket truck while working on Monday has died, police announced on Thursday. Middletown Police Lt. Jeffry Thoelen said he was notified late Wednesday by the Orange County Medica Examiner's Office of the death. The man worked for JMH Tree Service, which lists a Middletown address. Fire officials said the man fell 30 to 40 feet near 15 Highland Ave. around 12:48 p.m. Monday. The man was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center by Mobile Life Supports ambulance. Thoelen said they could not release the man's identity pending notification of his family.

State Trooper Injured After Cruiser Overturns In Route 9 Crash
A New York State Police trooper suffered injuries after being involved in a one-car crash in the Hudson Valley. New York State Police in Livingston are investigating the crash, which took place in a patrol vehicle being driven by trooper Theresa Filippini at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday night on Route 9 in Stockport in Columbia County. Investigators said that Filippini was driving a marked state patrol vehicle southbound on Route 9 near the Columbiaville Bridge, when she struck an embankment and tree before the car was overturned. Car Slams Into Store At Mahopac Village Shopping Centre
A driver hit the gas instead of the brake and slammed into the front of the Rite Aid pharmacy in Mahopac, closing the business, according to Carmel Police. The incident took place around 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Mahopac Village Shopping Centre on Route 6 in Mahopac, police said. No one was injured, but the building was asked to close until it could be inspected for structural soundness, Carmel Police said. All all of the other businesses in the plaza remain open.

Man Struck, Killed By Train In Area
Police have identified a man who was fatally struck by a train in Rockland County on Tuesday night. The Orangetown Police Department received a call at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, from a passerby who saw a man struck by a train on the CSX rail line just south of Bradley Hill Road. Officers arrived at the scene and tracked down the man, who has since been identified as Blauvelt resident Enda Caulfield, 36. Funeral services have been scheduled for a music producer from Northern Westchester who died at age 26 after being struck by a car while walking in Los Angeles. Relatives and friends of Louis Conway of Somers are welcome to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, June 24 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. Luckily no dogs, or humans, were hurt when a car slammed into the front of Pawsitively Petastic on Route 6 in Mahopac. The crash happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday when a person who had just dropped off their pet at the popular dog hotel and daycare drove into the front of the building at 395 Route 6, said the owner, Lia Herlihy. Teen Mistakes Gas Pedal For Brake, Drives Into Westchester Storefront
A teenage driver accidentally drove a Jeep into the storefront of a Westchester supermarket shortly before noon on Monday, May 21. Police were dispatched to DeCicco Family Markets in Scarsdale, when the motorist jumped the curb, causing minor damage to the building. Police said that the 17-year-old driver told officers that she pressed on the gas pedal thinking that she was applying the vehicle’s brake, which caused the 2018 Jeep to jump the curb, striking the front of DeCicco’s exterior. The building sustained minor damage, with several windows being broken. No injuries were reported.

Woman Crashes Into Fairfield County Storefront, Police Say
A 73-year-old Monroe woman drove into the front of a store in Century Plaza after confusing the gas and brake pedals, police said. The incident took place around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday when the unidentified woman hit the accelerator instead of the brake when attempting to park in front of the Vision Center at the Plaza, said Monroe Police Capt. Keith White. The woman, who was injured and transported to a hospital, was the only person in the vehicle. The store was closed at the time. Brick along the front of the store, as well as the windows, were heavily damaged during the crash, White said.
