ID Released For West Point Cadet Candidate Killed After Falling From Rock Ledge
The identity of the West Point cadet candidate who was killed in a cliff-diving accident has been released. The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 in the Town of Hunter in Greene County, New York. Troopers responded to a 911 call of an unresponsive man at a routinely frequented cliff diving location known as Fawn’s Leap, off Route 23A. The man has now been ID'd as Benjamin K. An 8-year-old girl was killed when a large cabinet at her school fell on top of her, according to New York State Police. Ruchy Friedich was found dead around 2:37 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, when state police responded to a medical emergency in Orange County at the Kiryas Joel Union Free School at 7 Isreal Zupnick Drive, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Gridlock Alert: Serious Crash Blocks Lane On Taconic
This story has been updated. Both lanes on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway have reopened after a serious crash late Friday afternoon, July 12. The crash, reported just before 4:30 p.m., was southbound approaching Exit 8 (Saw Mill River Road/Route 100) in Millwood. Two lanes had been blocked before the center lane reopened. A naked man suffered life-threatening injuries after jumping onto a pickup truck and then jumped back off into the roadway while it was moving. A person had to be extricated from a vehicle that was seriously damaged after crashing into several objects before landing just a few feet from a house in Danbury. A 28-year-old former high school football player was killed while helping victims of a crash on the Cross Bronx Expressway. Jaquan Cesar, a Beacon resident and Poughkeepsie High School graduate, was killed around 1:15 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash on the expressway near Webster Avenue, said the NYPD. Voters were a little startled when a car drove into the side of the Garrison Firehouse, a busy polling place, but no one was injured. Westchester Man Falls To His Death Adjusting Third-Floor Air Conditioner
A 56-year-old man reaching to fix his window air conditioner fell to his death in Westchester County. Walker Clark of Mount Vernon fell out a third-floor window around 12 a.m. Friday of an apartment building at 630 Gramatan Ave., said Maria Donovan, spokeswoman for the Mount Vernon Police. Clark was attempting to adjust the air conditioner when he fell more than 30 feet to the ground, Donovan said.
