DOVER, N.Y. -- Dover town Supervisor-elect Linda French says she will emphasize economic development when her term begins and is hoping to attract a supermarket, according to a report in poughkeepsiejournal.com.

French, a Democrat, defeated Theodore Jensen in the supervisor's race on Tuesday, poughkeepsiejournal.com reported. 

French said she is looking forward to working with Republicans on the Town Board for the benefit of Dover, according to poughkeepsiejournal.com.
