Looking directly into the cameras, Trump said: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” he said. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”
Trump’s challenge comes at the same time the super power is being accused of hacking the Democratic National Committee's servers.
When asked if he was encouraging a foreign country to hack into Clinton's private email, Trump dismissed the question, The New York Times reported.
The Clinton campaign immediately jumped on the comment and accused Trump of encouraging Russian espionage in the United States, The New York Times reported.
Clinton, who lives in Chappaqua, officially became the first female to be nominated by a major U.S. party Tuesday night and will deliver her acceptance speech on the final night of the Democratic Convention on Thursday in Philadelphia.
Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J.
