In August last year, state police troopers launched an investigation into the burglary of a Weil Road residence in Dover, when two metal detectors, a Husqvarna chainsaw and Ruger .357 handgun were all reported stolen.

Police said that during the course of the investigation, multiple leads were followed, including the examination of a piece of a torn latex glove that was recovered at the scene of the burglary. Lab analysis of that glove led to a DNA match of New Milford, Conn., resident Brent Latham, who was incarcerated in Connecticut.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested Latham, charging him with second-degree burglary, a felony. He was arrested in Connecticut as a Fugitive of Justice and has since been extradited to New York State.

Latham has been arraigned on the burglary charge and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is due back in the Town of Dover Court later this year to answer the charge.
