Downstate Correctional Facility Inmate Throws Feces At Officer, Police Say

An inmate at the Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill is facing charges after allegedly throwing fecal matter and urine at a uniformed corrections officer.

State Police from the Wappinger barracks announced that Brooklyn resident Chico Rivera, 30, has been charged with a felony count aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate after assaulting the officer on Wednesday.

Rivera was arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court and remanded back into the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He is due back in the Town of Fishkill Court to answer the latest charge on Feb. 21.
