$1,000 reward for OxyContin culprit’s capture

Find the average-looking guy who robbed a Hoboken drug store of $10,000 worth OxyContin earlier this month and you’ll collect $1,000 cash. Authorities aren’t advising that any citizen try to grab the guy. But if you can help them find him, you’re a winner.

The 900 heroin-like painkillers were taken two weeks ago by a man who told the clerk at the downtown CVS at Newark and Washington streets that he had a gun.

Police said he’s white or Latino, about 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a green shirt, navy blue shorts and a baseball cap.

Pharmaceutical giant Purdue Pharma, which has seen more than its share of break-ins and holdups since the “hillbilly heroin” hit the market, is offering the reward for information leading to an arrest.

Since it began offering such rewards four years ago, police have arrested 100 suspected drug bandits.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the robber is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (888) 4RxTIPS or (888-479-8477).

All information is confidential, and callers don’t have to give their names. Instead, they’re issued a specific pin code that they can use to collect the money if an arrest is made.
