Her death was announced on Westportnow.com, a news website in Westport. Conn. where the actress starred in a “Bedroom Farce” last year at the Westport County Playhouse, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The couple have owned a home in Pawling for several years. Their son Flynn attended school at the Poughkeepsie Day School, said the Hudson Valley Post.
Hart married Jones in 1982, the same year they opposite each other in "Othello" on Broadway, said the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to “Othello,” the actress, who was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., also appeared on Broadway in numerous plays including “Dirty Linen & New-Found-Land,” for which she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award in 1977, added the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to stage work, she also worked on several TV shows including such favorites as "Law and Order," “Three’s Company” and “MacGyver," said the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to her husband and son, Hart is survived by her brothers James A. V. Hart and William F. Hart III, according to Westportnow.com.
The family ask that donations be made in her name to: The Actors Fund or to the Hudson Valley Hospice .
