Born in Czechoslovakia, Swantek came to New York via Chicago, where she'd worked at Forkosh Hospital. She was then a nurse's aide at Yonkers General Hospital.
She is survived by granddaughters Ann-Marie Swantek of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Suzanne Swantek of Mamaroneck; daughter-in-law JoAnn Swantek of Pawling; and several nieces and nephews.
Swantek is predeceased by her son, Andrew; husband Andrew Swantek; parents Jan and Anastazia (Guzy) Kocur; and several brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be from 9-9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Horn & Thomes Funeral Home, 83 East Main St., in Pawling. A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church, in Pawling, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Yonkers.
