Caffe Aurora (145 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, 845-454-1900): Once a year this Italian pastry shop -- in business since 1941 -- makes traditional classic American pies including cherry, apple, coconut custard and apple. Order by Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Ella's Bellas, (418 Main Street, Beacon, 845-765-8502): Vegan desserts and gluten-free pies including pecan bourbon, fudge (with homemade chocolate), cranberry sour cherry, apple and pumpkin are part of the repertoire here. Order by Sunday, Nov 22.
La Deliziosa Italian Pastry Shoppe (10 Mount Carmel Pl, Poughkeepsie, 845-471-3636): Pies are made at one time only at this Italian bakery -- at Thanksgiving - and include apple, apple crumb, Boston cream, cherry , mince, strawberry rhubarb, peach cobbler, banana cream, chocolate mouse, lemon meringue, pecan, pumpkin and blueberry. McKinney & Doyle- The Corner Bakery, (10 Charles Colman Blvd., Pawling, 845-855-3707): Old fashioned apple pie, sour cream apple pie, coconut custard, and pumpkin are on the menu at this popular bakery where everything is made from scratch. Order by Monday, Nov. 23.
Tiramisu (810 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, 845- 227-8707) Wheat pies are on the menu along with other traditional Italian and American goodies such as pecan, apple and pumpkin pies. Order as soon as possible, then pick up on Thanksgiving day when the eatery will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
