33-Year-Old Critically Injured In Crash Near Shopping Plaza In Miller Place
One person suffered severe injuries in an overnight crash in front of a Long Island shopping center. It happened just before 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in Miller Place. A 33-year-old Selden man was operating a 2016 Suzuki westbound on Route 25A at 6:55 p.m. when the motorcycle struck the rear of an eastbound 2023 Chevrolet Traverse attempting to turn left into the Miller Place Plaza, located at 451 Route 25A, according to Suffolk County Police. 13-Year-Old Caught With Brass Knuckles At Ronkonkoma School, Police Say
A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after he was allegedly caught with brass knuckles at a Long Island school. The incident happened in Lake Ronkonkoma, at Samoset Middle School, at around 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Suffolk County Police said a staff member asked the teen to empty his bag for an unrelated incident when the brass knuckles were discovered. The student was arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. He is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk County Court on a later date.

14-Year-Old Critically Injured In Lake Ronkonkoma Crash Involving Nesconset Woman
A teenager suffered severe injuries in a crash near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in Lake Ronkonkoma. A 56-year-old Nesconset woman was driving a 2024 Volkswagen SUV on Smith Road, near Cenacle Road, when the vehicle struck the 14-year-old boy who was rollerblading in the roadway, according to the Suffolk County Police. A 20-year-old man will spend decades behind bars for fatally stabbing a man in a Long Island traffic circle in broad daylight.
