44-Year-Old Killed After Being Struck By Car While Working On Pickup Truck On Blue Point Road A man who was working on a pickup truck on a Long Island roadway was killed after being struck by a car. It happened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Blue Point. A 54-year-old East Patchogue woman was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Kennedy Avenue near Pine Street when the vehicle struck a man working on a 2006 Dodge Ram parked on the northbound side of the road.
