Driver Hospitalized After Car Snaps Poles In Region A driver was taken to a hospital following a crash in Northern Westchester that left two utility poles snapped.  The crash happened on Friday, Oct. 4 just before 8:30 p.m., when a vehicle hit two poles on Route 133 in Mount Kisco near the intersection with Crow Hill Road, according to Independent Fire Co. #13 of the Mount Kisco Fire Department.  Arriving first responders found that the crash had knocked over two poles, leaving wires dangerously close to the roadway.  The driver was soon taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla by the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Co…

Driver Nabbed For DWI While En Route To Pick Up Drunk Friend In Region A patron of a local bar in Northern Westchester called the wrong friend to come pick him up, police said.  The head-scratching incident began at around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, when a Westchester County Police officer stopped a car driving erratically in Mount Kisco on Lieto Drive.  Upon talking with the driver, the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and saw an open beer can in the center console.  As the traffic stop went on, the officer learned the ironic truth: the man had driven from Ossining to Mount Kisco to pick up a friend who had…

Bill Adding Fencing To Hudson Valley Bridges To Prevent People From Deadly Jumps Moves Forward A bill aimed at stopping suicides by adding preventive fencing to five Hudson Valley bridges has passed the New York State Senate unanimously. Now, the bill introduced by State Sen. Pete Harckham (D, Mount Kisco), will move to the State Assembly, whose session ends on Friday, June 7, for consideration.
