Authorities in the Hudson Valley are warning residents to be wary of phone scammers posing as police to demand cash from victims. The scheme was detailed in an announcement by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Aug. 23, in which authorities said they had received reports of fraudulent calls to residents in the county. Authorities in the Hudson Valley were kept busy over several days with holding suspects accountable for leaving their pets in hot cars and animal abandonment, officials announced. A 22-year-old man has admitted to taking part in the robbery of a Hudson Valley electronics store before fleeing to Westchester with the proceeds, officials announced. Body Of Man Who Jumped From Hudson Valley Bridge Recovered
The body of a man who jumped from a bridge in the region has been recovered. The incident occurred on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Saturday, Aug. 3. Police are investigating after a woman was shot to death at a home in the region. The incident happened in Schenectady, at a residence on Charles Street near Albany Street, at around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 31.
