Update: Dead Body Found On I-90 Identified By DOT Workers Identified As Man From Region A person found dead on I-90 near the Patroon Island Bridge by state Department of Transportation workers has been identified as a Capital Region man. New York State Police said Lawrence N. Viscio, 58, of Albany, was found by the employees at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3. His cause of death is pending autopsy and further investigation. Troopers closed the right lane of I-90 following the body's discovery in Rensselaer for about 1.5 hours for investigation purposes.  The investigation is ongoing.  This remains a developing story. Impaired Driver Charged After Fatal Crash In Region, Police Say A tractor-trailer driver was killed in the Capital Region after crashing into the back of another truck in which the driver was charged with DWI/ impaired by drugs. The crash occurred in Schenectady County at 10:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, on I-90 in Rotterdam. According to Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, an investigation determined that both tractor-trailers were traveling westbound when one vehicle, operated by a Canadian driver, crashed into the rear of the other.  The Canadian driver was declared dead at the scene, O'Neil said. Woman From Region Involved In Wrong-Way Crash Nabbed For Drunk Driving, Police Say A Capital Region woman was nabbed for alleged drunk driving and vehicular assault after crashing into another vehicle while driving the wrong way on a busy highway. The incident occurred in Albany at 1 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, on the I-87 Thruway. According to New York State Police Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, troopers charged Schenectady County resident Alexandria M. Albany County resident Michael Furch, age 34, of Guilderland, died following a single-vehicle crash on I-787 in Albany on Thursday, June 20. New York State Police said Furch was operating a motorcycle when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier while exiting I-787 on the flyover ramp to I-90. Fatal Crash: 34-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Capital Region Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead in the region. It happened around 5:10 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in Albany. The investigation determined that Albany County resident Michael F. Furch, age 34, of Guilderland, was operating a motorcycle when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a concrete barrier exiting I-787 on the off-ramp to I-90, New York State Police said. Furch was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the shoulder of I-787 northbound below the off-ramp.   Furch was pronounced dead at the scene.
