Man With Gun Outside High School On Long Island Arrested: Police (Update) A Roosevelt man has been arrested after allegedly flashing a gun at a 17-year-old outside Roosevelt High School, Nassau County police announced on Thursday, Aug. 21. The incident happened on Monday, Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. outside the school at 1 Wagner Avenue. A teen victim was approached by a man, later identified as Eybin Umana, 40, of 164 Grenada Avenue, and got into a verbal argument, detectives explained. Ponytailed Burglar Scared Off From Long Island Home, Police Say A Long Island woman’s home security system may have stopped a burglary in progress after she spotted a stranger trying to break in. The 36-year-old Bayville homeowner was at her Creek Ridge Road residence at around 9:20 p.m. Monday, July 28, when she saw a man attempting to force his way into her home on her surveillance cameras, according to Nassau County Police. She immediately called 911. Before officers arrived, the suspect fled the scene.
