Woman Accused Of Stealing Dog In Capital Region A 46-year-old woman from the region was arrested this week after police said she and another woman stole two dogs from a home earlier this month.  Shalon Jones, of Albany, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and hindering prosecution, Albany police said. Routine Traffic Stop Lands 5 Capital Region Teens In Handcuffs; No Room Left In Juvenile Jail Police arrested five boys — the youngest being 15 — after they found illegal pistols during a routine traffic stop on Wednesday, Aug. 8, in Rensselaer County, authortiies said.  The teens — ages 15 to 17 — were stopped near the Griswold Heights Apartments in Troy as officers have upped their presenece there following recent violence, Troy police said.  Police searched the vehicle and found one of the guns in the floorboard and a second in the waistband of one the 15 year old. Driver Busted In Stolen U-Haul Truck On Capital Region Highway, Police Say What began as a routine traffic stop on a highway in the region ended with a man in handcuffs and accused of driving a stolen U-Haul truck. A trooper in Albany County pulled the box truck over at around 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 24, on I-87 in Colonie for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. New York State Police said further investigation determined that the U-Haul truck had been reported stolen to the Colonie Police Department just one day prior. In Albany County, Cohoes Police were called shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, May 25, for three people who were reportedly going through parked vehicles on Leversee Avenue.
