Bank Robber On Run After Targeting Long Island Branch Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Long Island. The incident happened in Central Islip, at the Bank of America on Wheeler Road, at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13. Suffolk County Police said a man demanded cash and threatened violence while displaying what appeared to be a gun in his waistband. The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot with cash.
