Forget about only getting dinner delivered, you can now use Uber Eats and DoorDash to order tools, hardware, and other things you need to complete home projects. The Home Depot has expanded its delivery options by teaming up with DoorDash and Uber Eats, the home improvement chain said in a news release on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Delta will enter a new partnership with Uber and allow SkyMiles customers to earn rewards on rides, ending the airline's longtime relationship with Lyft, officials said. Payback Time: NY Delivery Drivers Will Get Cut Of $4M Settlement Over Withheld Tips
Thousands of local delivery drivers are in for a much-deserved payday. Drizly, a now-defunct alcohol delivery platform, reached a $4 million settlement with the State of New York on Tuesday, Dec. 17, for failing to ensure that delivery workers received their rightful tips. According to New York Attorney General Leitita James, Drizly encouraged customers to tip delivery workers but sent the funds to liquor store owners instead. Food Delivery Drivers Among Victims In Reported Uptick In Capital Region Vehicle Thefts
Police are warning of an uptick in vehicle thefts in the region, including several belonging to food delivery drivers. The Albany Police Department has received numerous reports of stolen cars, many of which were left running unattended, the agency said on Facebook Monday, Aug. 7.
